Chapter 7 - Examining The Late Wife’s Secret Vault And Letters

Late that night, guided by a heavy brass key found in the nursery floorboards, Dante unlocked a hidden compartment behind the mantel.
It was a small, climate-controlled vault installed by his late wife, Elena, before her untimely death five years earlier.
Inside sat bundles of handwritten letters tied with blue silk ribbons, along with a secure flash drive and a legal testament.
Dante carefully untied the first ribbon, unfolding the crisp stationery and scanning Elena’s familiar, elegant handwriting in the dim light.
“My dearest Dante, if you are reading this, it means I am gone and you have allowed strangers too close to our innocent daughter.”
“Watch out for Vanessa; her debts are massive, and she views our estate as nothing more than a prize to be plundered.”
Tears welled in Dante’s hardened eyes as he realized his late wife had seen through Vanessa’s deceptive mask from the very beginning.
He plugged the secure flash drive into his terminal, watching a recorded video file load instantly onto the high-resolution screen.

Elena appeared on the screen, looking healthy and radiant, speaking directly to him with an expression of profound warning.
“If Vanessa ever lays a hand on our daughter, Dante, do not hesitate to dismantle everything she holds dear,” Elena’s recorded voice echoed softly.
