Chapter 5 - Medical Examination Reveals The Physical Toll On Chloe

Within twenty minutes of Vanessa’s expulsion, the estate’s private family physician arrived with a specialized pediatric nursing team.
Dr. Sterling conducted a thorough physical examination of five-year-old Chloe inside the warm, wood-paneled nursery upstairs.
Dante stood by the doorway, his hands locked tightly behind his back as he listened to every clinical observation with dread.
“She is severely malnourished, Mr. Albasini, showing classic signs of chronic caloric restriction and mild dehydration,” Dr. Sterling reported grimly.
“Furthermore, there are superficial bruising patterns around her wrists and ankles consistent with repeated binding or restraint,” the doctor added.
Dante felt a cold wave of white-hot rage surge through his veins, wishing he had thrown Vanessa off the balcony instead of just the front steps.
“What can we do to ensure her immediate physical and psychological recovery, Doctor?” Dante asked, his voice strained with emotion.
“She needs round-the-clock nutritional monitoring, trauma counseling, and above all, absolute emotional security and unconditional love,” Dr. Sterling advised.
