Chapter 18 - The Father Gives His Daughter Complete Business Control
During our weekly board meeting at Sterling Tower, my father stood up from his seat at the head of the boardroom table.
He walked around the mahogany structure and stopped directly behind my chair, placing his hands on the backrest.
“Ladies and gentlemen of the board,” my father announced, capturing the undivided attention of every executive present.
“As of today, I am officially stepping down as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Sterling Global Industries.”
Murmurs of shock rippled through the room as veteran investors exchanged stunned glances across the table.
“I hand over complete operational control, voting shares, and executive authority to my daughter and successor,” Dad smiled.
He stepped aside, gesturing toward me as I rose from my chair to take my rightful place at the head of the table.
