By sunrise, the iron gates of the Cole estate were blockaded by federal tactical vehicles and unmarked government SUVs.
Agents in heavy tactical gear took up sniper positions along the stone walls, demanding immediate surrender of the premises.
Nathan stood on the grand balcony holding little Lily in his arms, while Grace stood safely behind him in a tailored cashmere robe.
“Mr. Cole! Step away from the balcony and send Grace Miller out to federal custody!” a bullhorn blared from the drive.
Nathan kissed Lily’s forehead gently, handing her over to Grace with a reassuring, steady smile.
