Chapter 17 - Judge Denies Bail Given The Severe Violent Footage

The prosecution played a ten-second clip of the dining room security footage on the courtroom overhead monitors.

The sound of shattering porcelain and Mark’s angry voice echoed off the courtroom walls for everyone to hear.

“The state requests zero bail given the violent nature of the assault and clear flight risk indicators,” the prosecutor stated.

“Your Honor, my client has deep community roots and requests release pending trial,” a public defender argued weakly.

Judge Harrison banged his wooden gavel sharply, cutting off any further debate from the defense table.

“Given the severity of the video evidence and active offshore flight attempts, bail is officially denied,” Judge Harrison ruled.

Mark slumped forward in his chair, handcuffed and remanded directly to maximum-security custody pending trial.
