Chapter 10 - Vivienne Cracks Under The Weight Of Hard Evidence

Back in the dining room, Marco escorted Vivienne into the private study while guests remained locked under guard.

Damian stood behind his mahogany desk, holding the handwritten letter and the recovered flash drive in plain sight.

Vivienne took one look at the papers and dropped her expensive designer handbag onto the Persian rug with a hollow thud.

“You went through her room,” Vivienne whispered, her voice losing its icy arrogance as pure panic took over.

“She left a note naming you, Vivienne, and explaining exactly why you wanted her out of this estate,” Damian stated coldly.

“She was a servant! She didn’t belong in our world! She saw things she shouldn’t have seen in the west wing!” Vivienne shrieked.

“What things did she see?” Damian demanded, leaning forward over the desk with a terrifying intensity.

“She saw me taking documents from your private safe months ago! She threatened to tell you everything!” Vivienne sobbed hysterically.

“And you had her poisoned?” Damian asked, his voice dropping to a dangerous, deadly whisper that chilled the room.
