Chapter 3 - Marco Secures Little Rosie Away From The Chaos

Little Rosie still clutched her worn stuffed rabbit tightly, her wide blue eyes blinking up at the imposing security chief.
Marco knelt down on one knee, softening his stern expression as he gently placed a warm hand on the child's shoulder.
“Come with me, little one; let’s get you some hot cocoa in the warm kitchen away from here,” Marco said softly.
Rosie nodded, looking back once at Vivienne before allowing the trusted security veteran to guide her out of harm's way.
The heavy service door clicked shut behind them, leaving the tense gathering of wealthy socialites alone with Damian’s wrath.
Vivienne glared toward the door, her composure completely unraveling as she realized her carefully constructed web was tearing apart.
“You are making a scene over a dead servant’s cheap trinket found at a local flea market,” Vivienne hissed defensively.
“That trinket belonged to a woman who worked in this house for six years and died under mysterious circumstances,” Damian countered.

“People die every day of strokes, Damian! It has nothing to do with me!” she shouted, her voice rising hysterically.
Damian stopped inches away from her, the sheer physical intensity of his presence robbing the air from her lungs.
