Chapter 15 - Damian Makes A Lifelong Promise To Young Rosie
Later that afternoon, Damian walked into the estate's sunny nursery where little Rosie sat playing with building blocks.
The toddler looked up with nervous apprehension, clutching her stuffed rabbit against her chest as he approached.
Damian knelt down beside her small chair, looking into her innocent blue eyes with absolute sincerity and warmth.
“Rosie, your mommy was a wonderful, brave woman, and she will always be remembered in this house,” Damian promised softly.
“Is Mommy coming back from heaven?” the little girl asked, her lower lip trembling with unshed tears.
“No, sweetheart, but I am going to make sure you are cared for, loved, and protected for the rest of your life,” he vowed.
He produced the platinum ring with the hand-carved star, sliding it gently onto a silver chain to wear around his neck.

Damian held her tightly, knowing that his life had permanently changed for the better because of a child’s sharp eyes.
