Chapter 6 - Vivienne’s High-Price Attorney Threatens Legal Action Instantly

Arthur Sterling, Vivienne’s personal legal counsel who happened to be attending as an invited guest, stood up from his chair.

“Mr. Vance, as Miss Caldwell’s legal representative, I must warn you that holding us here constitutes unlawful imprisonment,” Sterling declared.

Damian turned his glacial gaze toward the high-priced attorney without a single flicker of intimidation in his eyes.

“Sit down, Arthur, before I add accessory to obstruction of justice to your resume,” Damian warned in a flat, lethal tone.

“You cannot detain guests over an unverified claim made by a delusional child regarding stolen property,” the lawyer argued stiffly.

“Property? That platinum ring has a hand-carved star that Sofia carved herself on her kitchen table three years ago,” Damian stated.

Arthur adjusted his silk tie, faltering for a second as he realized Damian possessed direct physical proof of ownership.

“Even if true, my client purchased it in good faith from an antique dealer downtown,” the attorney lied smoothly.

“Then provide the receipt, the dealer’s name, and the bill of sale right now,” Damian challenged, stepping closer.

The lawyer fell silent, exchanging a panicked, fleeting glance with Vivienne that did not escape Damian’s watchful eyes.
