Chapter 4 - Damian Demands Sofia’s Employment And Medical Files Immediately

Damian pulled his encrypted satellite phone from his tuxedo pocket, dialing a direct extension with cold, calculated precision.
“Get me the complete personnel file, medical records, and death certificate for Sofia Carter from human resources immediately,” he ordered.
“Yes, Mr. Vance, I’ll have the digital archives transferred to your private terminal within three minutes,” his assistant replied.
Vivienne watched him with growing horror, recognizing that Damian’s investigative resources were virtually limitless and completely merciless.
“You’re investigating a routine medical death like a homicide detective over a piece of jewelry,” Vivienne mocked nervously.
“Sofia was forty-two years old, healthy, and ran three miles every morning before preparing breakfast,” Damian stated coldly.
“People have strokes unexpectedly all the time! You’re grasping at straws because a toddler threw a tantrum!” she protested.
Damian ignored her frantic excuses, waiting in stony silence as the encrypted file downloaded onto his tablet computer.
