Chapter 10 - Vincent Confronts His Mother About The Coverup
Vincent turned his intense gaze toward his mother, crossing his arms over his broad chest.
“Mom, you knew Arthur Sterling was auditing our accounts around the time of the fire; why didn't you investigate further?” he asked.
Eleanor lowered her head in shame, wringing her hands together as painful memories resurfaced.
“Your father told me the police found definitive proof... I was broken with grief and trusted his judgment,” she confessed.
“Father trusted Sterling because they went to university together, which was his fatal mistake,” Vincent noted grimly.
“We need to exhume the sealed corporate arbitration files from that year before Sterling’s associates realize we know,” Claire suggested.
Vincent looked at his sister with newfound admiration, realizing she possessed the sharp intellect of a true Moretti executive.
