Inside a federal holding cell downtown, Vanessa sat waiting for her defense attorney when the television broadcast flickered on.
CNN anchors reported live from the courthouse steps regarding the foiled hostile takeover of Moretti Development.
The broadcast displayed high-definition photographs of Claire Moretti standing proudly alongside her brother Vincent.
“The newly reinstated Moretti heir successfully defended the family empire against coordinated corporate fraud today,” the anchor stated.
Vanessa screamed in rage, throwing her plastic coffee cup against the stainless steel walls of the holding cell.
Her elaborate plot to destroy Claire and humiliate the Moretti family had completely imploded in her face.
