Chapter 4 - Vanessa Tries To Dismiss The Emotional Family Reunion
Vanessa forced a tight, brittle smile onto her face, trying desperately to regain control of the high-society gala.
“Everyone, please calm down; this woman clearly coordinated a stunt to ruin our engagement celebration,” Vanessa announced loudly.
Not a single guest moved or spoke; the sheer gravity of Eleanor’s tears completely outweighed Vanessa’s manufactured outrage.
“She tore my dress and humiliated me in front of the entire eastern seaboard elite!” Vanessa protested hysterically.
“You tore her uniform and shoved her to the floor because of your own insecure jealousy,” Vincent corrected her coldly.
“I am your fiancée! We are supposed to be married in three months at St. Patrick’s Cathedral!” Vanessa cried out.
“That wedding was canceled the moment you laid hands on my family,” Vincent replied without a trace of hesitation.
Vanessa’s face drained of color as she realized her social standing and future empire were vanishing into thin air.
