Chapter 11 - Jonathan Realizes The Horrific Truth About His Wife

Moments later, Jonathan and Celeste hurried down the west wing hallway, escorted closely by Patrol Officer Miller.
When Jonathan saw his son wrapped in Maya’s arms, looking pale, emaciated, and terrified, the blood completely drained from his face.
“Noah... oh god, Noah,” Jonathan choked out, staggering backward until his spine hit the walnut wall paneling.
Celeste stood beside him, her expression hardening as she realized her elaborate, cruel deception had completely cratered.
“Jonathan, don't look at me like that; he was completely out of control, and the doctors recommended strict behavioral isolation,” Celeste defended herself icily.
Jonathan turned his head slowly toward his wife, his blue eyes wide with a terrifying mixture of horror, guilt, and boiling rage.
“You told me he was at a private residential facility in Vermont, Celeste... you told me he was getting professional therapy!” Jonathan roared.
“I trusted you! I signed the papers because you said it was for his own good!” Jonathan shouted, his voice cracking with utter despair.
Celeste crossed her arms, tossing her head back with an arrogant sneer that defied all remorse.
“You were too weak and distracted by your corporate acquisitions to manage a difficult child, Jonathan; I was fixing your mess,” Celeste hissed venomously.
Officer Vance stood up, stepping between the parents while snapping heavy steel handcuffs securely onto Celeste’s wrists.
