In a dimly lit cigar lounge across town, Don Marco Bellini poured amber whiskey for his unexpected late-night guest.
Marcus Vance, representing the Romano family, sat across the leather booth smiling with dark, calculated amusement.
“Luciano thinks he secured his position by claiming that housekeeper as his legal wife,” Marcus noted, swirling his drink.
“A fake marriage designed to stop a war won’t survive when federal tax fraud indictments hit their doorstep,” Bellini laughed.
“Miss Romano has already leaked the offshore property deeds to the federal field office in downtown Boston,” Marcus revealed.
“Once the Feds freeze their accounts, the Costa estate will be ripe for a hostile territorial takeover,” Bellini agreed eagerly.
