Chapter 7 - A Tense Showdown In The Sunlit Entrance Hall

Chloe stepped out from the conservatory holding a silver tray of fresh lemonade, pausing as she faced the angry heiress.
Celeste stopped dead in her tracks, scanning Chloe’s navy housekeeping dress and curvy silhouette with unconcealed disgust.
“So this is the domestic employee who managed to trap Luciano into a pathetic shotgun wedding lie,” Celeste sneered openly.
“If you’re looking for Don Costa, he’s currently reviewing shipping manifests in the east study,” Chloe replied calmly.
“I didn’t come to see him; I came to look the pathetic impostor in the eye before I strip everything away from her,” Celeste hissed.
Chloe set the tray down on a nearby mahogany console table, refusing to cower beneath the wealthy woman’s venomous stare.
“If you have business with the Costa household, schedule an appointment through Mr. Hart like everyone else,” Chloe advised firmly.
