Agent Miller tossed a printed dossier onto the steel briefing table, highlighting the sudden shift in syndicate alliances.
“Luciano Costa announces an impromptu marriage to an unknown civilian during a twelve-family summit,” Miller read aloud.
“Intelligence reports indicate the bride is his estate housekeeper, Chloe Mercer,” his junior investigator added quickly.
“Housekeepers don’t just marry mafia bosses without a deeper financial or territorial motivation behind the scenes,” Miller deduced.
“Should we dispatch a surveillance unit to monitor the Costa estate for potential witness intimidation or coercion?” his partner asked.
“No, let’s request a formal tax audit and lifestyle check; money talks louder than wedding vows in federal court,” Miller ordered.
