The investigation became public.
Daniel confessed to fraud-related conduct and cooperated with prosecutors.
Several executives were charged.
Vanessa testified.
Rosa testified.
Michael testified.
Claire did not ask the court for mercy.
She didn't ask for vengeance either.
Daniel accepted responsibility.
Before being led away after sentencing, he looked at Claire one final time.
“I am sorry.”
Claire nodded.

“I know.”
But forgiveness and reconciliation were not the same thing.
