Chapter 6 - The Dark Contract Exposed

Lucas turned the page, his voice taking on the commanding rhythm of a prosecuting attorney delivering an inescapable indictment.
“Listen closely to your father’s own words, Clara, and let every coward standing in this garden hear the truth they were too blind to see!”
Lucas began reading the authenticated affidavit directly from the page, his voice booming with absolute clarity.
“‘I, Arthur Sterling, write this under sound mind and grave peril on the night of October fourteenth,’” Lucas read aloud.
“‘For the past six months, I have discovered that my wife, Victoria, alongside her illicit lover Richard Vance, have been systematically siphoning over forty million dollars from the Sterling Maritime Trust into offshore shell companies in the Cayman Islands.’”
The crowd immediately turned their heads toward Richard, who was still leaning against the ruined sunbeds, his face pale as a ghost.
Several prominent bank directors present at the party immediately pulled out their phones, furiously verifying the offshore account names that Lucas was reading aloud.
“‘They believed I was blind to their embezzlement,’” Lucas continued reading Arthur’s words, “‘but every wire transfer, every forged corporate authorization, and every secret offshore routing number has been mirrored and recorded on the encrypted hardware attached to this document.’”
Victoria dragged herself toward Lucas on her knees, completely abandoning any trace of pride, her hands clasped together in desperate begging.
“Lucas, stop! Please, for the love of God, stop reading! We can negotiate! I can give you half the company, I can give you fifty million dollars right now!”
Her pathetic bribery only confirmed her guilt in front of every single witness present.
Chloe sat paralyzed in the lounge chair, her hand still holding her bruised face, her entire identity as a billionaire socialite crumbling to dust before her eyes.
“Mother… is this true?” Chloe whimpered, her voice trembling with disbelief. “Did you… did you steal all of it?”
Victoria did not even look at her daughter; her terror was entirely focused on the impending destruction of her entire life.
Lucas looked down at the pleading woman with cold, unyielding eyes and continued reading without a single shred of mercy.
“‘Furthermore, I have officially discovered that Victoria and Richard entered a secret pre-dated marriage contract months before filing for corporate restructuring, designed to strip my legitimate children of their rightful birthright.’”
“‘Therefore, in the presence of the Supreme Notary, I hereby revoke all powers of attorney, cancel all corporate titles granted to Victoria Sterling, and declare any will held in her possession to be an absolute, fraudulent forgery!’”
The garden erupted into frantic murmurs and loud arguments as the socialites realized they had been attending the victory party of a fraudster and a thief.
Clara stood by Lucas’s side, the weight of two years of psychological abuse lifting from her chest, replaced by an overwhelming sense of vindication.

Her father had never abandoned her; he had fought to protect them until his very last breath.
And now, his voice was speaking from the grave through the son he had trained to be unbreakable.
